Plan for busy weeks
Art Basel week in December and the February boat show and food festival bring large crowds to Miami Beach. Hotels fill early, and traffic on the causeways between the mainland and the beach is heavier. Book accommodation and any timed activity early, and allow extra time to reach tour meeting points.
During Calle Ocho, streets in Little Havana are closed to traffic for the festival. Use a rideshare drop-off away from the closures or public transport where available.
Pairing tours with event days
Schedule a short activity on event days rather than a full-day excursion. A 90-minute bay cruise or a two-hour shared Miami Bay boat trip fits around an afternoon at a fair. Save the five-hour Everglades safari or a Key West day trip for a day with no event plans.
